Boardwalk Bowl

Ten-frame bowling with one gesture — drag back to load power, flick at release to hook the ball into the pocket.

About This Game

Boardwalk Bowl is real ten-frame bowling compressed into a single gesture. There's no aim cursor, no spin menu, no three-step power meter — you press near the ball, drag back down the lane to load power, and the direction you're drifting at the instant you let go becomes the ball's hook. That one motion carries everything, which means the difference between a washout and a pocket hit is in your thumb, not in a submenu.

The scoring is the genuine article, not a simplified arcade approximation. Strikes and spares carry their bonus forward the way they do on a real scoresheet, so a strike in the eighth is worth whatever you throw next — and the tenth frame gives you the extra ball it should.

How to Play

Press near the ball at the bottom of the lane and drag backward, away from the pin deck. The further back you pull, the more power you load, shown live by a stretchy dotted guide running from the ball. While you're still holding, slide your finger sideways: that lateral offset at the moment of release becomes the ball's hook, curving it across the boards as it travels. Let go to roll.

Three modes: Quick 5 is a five-frame round for a two-minute sitting; Full 10 is the complete game with real bonus carry; and the Daily lane gives every player the same lane and the same conditions for that day, so the scores are actually comparable.

Strategy Tips

  • Power alone doesn't strike — a ball thrown straight and hard splits the head pin and leaves corner pins standing. A moderate roll with real lateral hook into the pocket carries far more pins.
  • Load your hook early in the drag rather than flicking at the last instant. A late sideways jerk registers as a large lateral value and sends the ball across the lane into the gutter.
  • Because bonus carries forward, a strike late in the game is worth more than the same strike early — the tenth frame's extra ball means a strike there compounds twice.
  • When you leave a single corner pin, aim almost straight with the barest hook. Spares are where a 150 game becomes a 200 game; chasing a dramatic hook on a one-pin leave is how you miss it entirely.
  • The Daily lane is the same for everyone — play it after you've warmed up on Quick 5, not as your first roll of the day.
