About This Game
Corner Pocket is pool with a real simulated table underneath it — cue ball spin, cushion rebound, ball-on-ball collision and all — driven by a single drag gesture. Press near the cue ball, pull back to set both your line and your power at once, and release to strike. Everything about the shot lives in that one motion, which keeps a game that's normally full of menus down to something you can play with a thumb.
Both real rulesets are here rather than one generic pocket game: 8-ball, with its solids-and-stripes group assignment and a called black to finish, and 9-ball, where you must strike the lowest ball on the table first and the nine can end the rack early. An AI opponent plays you across a match.
How to Play
Press near the cue ball and drag backward — the angle you drag sets the line, the distance sets the power, and an aim arrow previews both. Release to shoot. You can also set english (spin) on the cue ball before striking, which is what lets you control where the cue ends up after contact rather than just where the object ball goes. When you're awarded ball-in-hand after an opponent's foul, drag the cue ball to place it.
Strategy Tips
- Play position, not just the pot. A shot that sinks a ball and leaves the cue stranded behind a cluster is worth less than a slightly harder pot that leaves you an open next shot.
- English is for after contact — use it to control the cue's roll-off, not to curve a shot into a ball you can't see.
- In 9-ball you must hit the lowest ball first, but you don't have to pot it. A deliberate safety that leaves your opponent snookered is often a better rack than a low-percentage cut.
- Soft shots are more accurate than hard ones here, exactly like a real table — power adds rebound you didn't plan for.
- Ball-in-hand is the biggest gift in the game. Take the time to place it for a shot that starts a run, not just for the easiest single pot.
