About This Game
Carnival Darts is played on a real dartboard — proper triple ring, double ring, outer bull and bullseye, at their true proportions — thrown with a two-stage timing meter instead of a mouse aim. You don't point at where you want the dart to land. You stop a sweeping meter twice: once for the horizontal, once for the vertical. Where those two stops intersect is where the dart goes.
That makes it a game about nerve rather than pointing accuracy, and it's why a treble 20 feels earned. On top of the meter, the reticle wobbles continuously, so even a well-timed pair of stops carries a little honest scatter — the same way a real throw does.
How to Play
Press and hold to start the horizontal meter sweeping, and release to lock your left-right position. Press and hold again for the vertical meter, and release to throw. Miss the timing and the dart lands off by however much you were early or late.
Three modes. 301 vs AI is the classic countdown from 301 against a computer opponent, where you have to finish exactly. Around the Clock walks you through the numbers in sequence, hitting each in order. Daily Bullseye gives every player the same board and the same conditions for that day.
Strategy Tips
- The triple ring is worth more than the bullseye — treble 20 scores 60 against the bull's 50. If you're chasing a big number, the thin band at the top of the board beats the center.
- Lock the horizontal first and commit; players who hesitate on the second meter overshoot far more often than players who take a rhythm and keep it.
- In 301 you have to finish exactly, so watch your remaining total from around 60 down and set up a number you can actually close on rather than scoring as hard as possible.
- The reticle wobble never stops, so there's no 'perfectly still' moment to wait for — waiting only costs you rhythm.
- Around the Clock rewards consistency over power. Aiming for the fat single of each number closes it faster than hunting trebles you'll miss.
